Honey, need help?

Recently a fren of mine has been lending me Baby Blues which honestly I've nvr heard of it till she introduced it to me >.< Thinking it's juz a typical Garfield or Snoopy comic I wasnt realli expecting much out of it in the beginning, until dusk starts to fall and the reluctance to close the book did I realise, damn I got hooked on to Baby Blues. Zoe's juz soooooooo cute and sarcastic haha, it's her sarcasm that caught me actually, u can never imagine a 5 year old been able to twist around wif words so much so that it's almost totally in her world I'm looking at, rather than the world she's living in haha.. if u get wat i mean. *roll eyes*

But it's not the hilarious jokes and exaggerated doodles that brings me to continue wif the book(party frankly lols), it's how some of the things goin on in the book somewhat relevant to the current world We're living in that keeps me goin. Wanda especially (Zoe's mother). She's a mother of 2(3 later on), a stay-at-home mom who has to do all the housework, baby-sitting and all sorts of things a housewife does at home. And there's bound to be some comic strips that reflects the imbalance, or rather, descrimination between the male and female, like for example, the housewife having to deal wif grocery, housework, babies, dinner, etc vs the businessman holding meetings and typing away on the laptop in the office. Now which seems more tedious and exhausting? And everything when the guy makes a bet in a game of "Whose day is louser", Wanda definitely wins by staking her "changing babies' booger diaper" or "answering her child's 500 questions a day".

Me bringing this up not cuz I disagree or protesting against the sheer underestimation of guys' work outside nor the seemingly glorious and nobel acts of housewives. Rather, I began to take more notice of woman's role in society. Compared to the past's duty as only a child-bearer and mother, the widespread of equal gender status and teardown of female discrimination, which brings about an addition role of a career woman for the ladies indeed does seem to be one worth celebrating and marking down in history, but to be remembered as a blessing or curse for the females? I reckon.

Sure career woman status has given females more opportunities, freedom and exposure to open society. They get to interact and compete in equal status wif males, and are given fairly equal recognition as guys nowadays (ideally of cuz... putting aside some female discriminations that are still been held and not easily taken down in the global world) Assuming equal status between males and females is reali been practised and upheld, it might seem so that females will have a much brighter future ahead. However, roles are like responsibilities, an additional role, doesnt that bring about more work for the females? From wat I noe, females often complain bout having to do housework rather than the guys, have to bear wif child labour and having to raise the children themselves while the guys get to merry around outside and blah blah and blah... Then won't the burden of career woman add on to their current load? I'm not against gender equity, nor am I dicriminating females, rather I'm eager to see females stand out in society, but I pity the point that they have to carry more heavier responsibilities on their shoulder hoping that they can stand out higher than the guys in society. To put it in another way, it's like... in the front we're allowing and liberating them females to give them more opportunities and cognition like us guys have been given since ancient times, but at the back it's like loading them wif tons of workpile hoping that the females will juz drown under them and thereby preventing them from climbing up the corporate ladders wif the males. I mean, is having more roles in life an indicator of better and higher social status? I believe there should be a better way to allow females to compete wif the guys wif the same amount of handicap, rather than letting the females compete when they had worn 1/2 of their lifes out handling other roles already.

Of cuz the selfish side of me sincerely and truthfully hopes that guys can undisputedly remain at the peak, the stronger and dorminant gender group, so I needn't worry my rice bowl will be snatched by a female when I step out into the working circle in few years time haha... but it pains me to see how a female has to handle both the internal and external work within a family...

So I truly wonder... izit realli a blessing for the females ever since their liberation...

Overall, I realli admire how females can do all these by themselves... admit it guys... we definitely lose to them in this aspect haha... They do things at times much better than us, more patient than us, more versatile and flexible than most of us, more verbal than us, less agressive than us, more caring and sensitive and loving than us, noe wat's good for us, noe wat's BEST for us, handles stuffs more carefully than us too... (it's ALL TRUE! but fails when she gets heartbroken though... tt's why love is a destructive element =x)

so guys... realli pls cherish the gals around u, especially ur loved ones... mom especially... they've realli contributed so much selflessly to u , even if it means to shorten their life span by 10 years making u do wat's best for u though u rather die than do them... they sacrificed so much for us, at the very least, we should share their burden to make them feel that it's all worth it, =)

u'll always be the gal... =)
